Calculation details
Full-year entitlement
Multiply regular days worked per week by 5.6, capped at 28 days. Convert to hours using the same fixed daily hours. The result includes any bank holidays that the employer counts towards statutory leave.
Example
Three days a week gives 16.8 days. At 7.5 hours per day that is 126 hours. An employer must not round fractional statutory entitlement down.
Limits
Regular days and equal-length shifts over a complete leave year only. Irregular-hours, part-year and joining/leaving calculations use different methods. Sickness and family-leave carry-over, holiday pay and contractual extra leave are not calculated.
